Salem, NH- The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins skated to a 3-3 draw with Top Gun on Sunday morning.
The 18U's took an early lead when Eli Pendergrass hit Vincent Jaeger with a pass and Jaeger ripped it at the net. The Top Gun goalie appeared to make the save, but the puck squirted over the goal line with 10:11 to go in the opening half.
Tristan Fedele put the 18U's up by two with 8:42 left in the half when he took a pass from David Rainone in the high slot and fired it home.
Just 35 seconds later, however, Top Gun got on the board.
Another Top Gun goal with 4:57 remaining in the half tied the game.
Top Gun scored with 19:19 to go in the game to take their first lead of the day.
Braydon Hudtloff tied the game for the 18U's when he took a pass from Jack O'Neil at the top of the slot and blasted it into the net with 8:28 to play.
Neither team could break the tie in the closing minutes, though not due to lack of opportunity. 18U goaltender Owen Byers was exceptional in a 33-save effort, and Jack O'Neil nearly scored a highlight-reel goal with just under three minutes left when he knocked the puck out of the air, but it scooted wide of the net.
The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins organization wishes the 18-and-under team the best of luck in their upcoming scholastic seasons.
