Salem, NH- The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins 18-and-under team fell 6-5 to the New England Fall Prep Hockey League Wildcats despite a three-point performance by Will Doherty and another tremendous outing by goaltender Kyle Bolduc.

The Wildcats drew first blood 2:43 into the contest and made it 2-0 with 19:49 to go in the opening half.

With 18:03 on the clock, Liam McCarthy sent a perfect pass to Doherty, who walked the puck into the zone and fired it into the back of the net.

Doherty bagged his second of the game four minutes later when Josh Itri sent him down the right wing and he scored from the right circle.

The Wildcats, however, took the lead 20 seconds before the buzzer.

Itri tied the game a minute into the second half with an assist from Doherty.

McCarthy gave the 18U's the lead for the first time all game when he knocked in his own rebound with 14:55 to go.

A power play goal by the Wildcats with 9:50 remaining tied the game, and another goal just under two minutes later put the Wildcats back in front.

The 18U's refused to go down easy, and David Rainone led a two on one down the right wing. A Wildcats defenseman forced him below the circle, but he dished the puck to Jack O'Neil, who was waiting at the foot of the slot, and O'Neil jammed it over the goal line with 6:02 left.

The Wildcats, however, got the last word when they scored with 43 seconds to go.

The 18U's will be back in Salem, NH, tomorrow when they face Top Gun at 10:50 AM.
