Dorchester, MA- The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins 18-and-under team came up short against the East Coast Wizards on Sunday afternoon.
The 18U's took the lead with a shorthanded goal when Josh Itri sent Brad Guden skating down the left wing to the net. Guden was unable to take a shot but managed to sneak the puck into the net with 14:50 to go in the opening half.
The Wizards tied the game with 12:23 on the clock.
Liam McCarthy restored the lead for the 18U's with 9: 46 remaining in the half when he picked off a clearing attempt in the slot and fired it home.
Once again, the Wizards responded 5:33 before the buzzer.
After eleven minutes of trading opportunities with nothing to show for it, Itri took a pass from Cole Estey and knocked it in back door.
The 18U's and Kyle Bolduc held the lead until the Wizards scored with 5:15 remaining and the Wizards took the lead 43 seconds later.
Two more goals in the final two minutes accounted for the final score.
The 18U's hope to rebound on Saturday when they face off with the South Shore Kings at 12:25 PM at the Foxboro Sports Center.
