Dorchester, MA- Nolan O'Sullivan and Chris Alexander each scored two goals and added an assist to lead the GBL Boston Jr. Bruins 16-and-under team to a 7-1 win over the Boston Little Bruins on Saturday night.
The 16U's got the ball rolling when Chris Alexander set up Ryan Callahan in the slot, and Callahan buried it three minutes into the game.
The Little Bruins tied the game with a power play goal with 7:08 left in the first half.
Fifty-two seconds later, O'Sullivan responded with an assist from Max Ryan to give the 16U’s the lead.
Josh Hennessy put the 16U’s up by two when he scored from O'Sullivan and Ryan with 3:03 remining in the opening half.
Chris Alexander made it 4-1 with help from Callahan and Max Sullivan with 1:30 to go before the buzzer.
A power-play goal by O'Sullivan assisted by Andrew Bohannon put the 16U's up by four with 12:57 remaining.
Just under a minute later, Callahan and Braydon Robinson set up Chris Alexander in the slot and Alexander fired the puck home to make it 6-1.
Ryan rounded out the scoring with a power-play goal from Hennessy with three minutes remaining.
"This was a big win for us," stated Nolan O'Sullivan. "We had a slow start, but we've really started to heat up recently. We've really come together as a team.
"We're all really excited to get another shot at the [East Coast] Wizards," he continued. "It would be amazing to get the weekend sweep against two really good teams"
The 16U's hope to keep their unbeaten streak alive when they return home to face the East Coast Wizards. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
