Marlborough, MA- The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins 18-and-under team salvaged a tie against the New Jersey Titans while the 16-and-under team bowed to the Maine Nordiques on Saturday night.
18U'S 4 : 4 NEW JERSEY TITANS
The Titans took the lead with 14:27 remaining in the opening half and stretched it to two goals a minute and a half later.
Mike McLaughlin put the 18U's on the board when he buried Jack O'Neil's rebound with 8:32 left in the first half.
The Titans, however, restored the two-goal lead with four minutes on the clock.
Vincent Jaeger answered back when he sent a shot through traffic into the net with 2:27 remaining in the half. Braydon Hudtloff and David Rainone assisted.
The Titans opened the second half with a goal 58 seconds after the puck drop.
Cole Estey's shot from the point with an assist from Will Doherty with 15:26 remaining cut the deficit to one.
With 4:35 to go, Estey buried a shot from the right side with an assist to Josh Itri to tie the game.
16U'S 1 : 4 MAINE NORDIQUES
Michael Doe grabbed the lead for the 16U's when he scored from Michael Moschella with 4:04 left in the opening half.
Maine, however, tied the game ninety seconds later.
Maine took the lead three minutes into the second half and made it 3-1 with 17:07 remaining.
Goaltender Gabe Rudolph skated off for the extra attacker with two minutes remaining, but the Nordiques iced the game with an empty-net goal with 1:23 on the clock.
