ALUMNI UPDATE: FELTON SIGNS WITH CANUCKS
Vancouver, BC- The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins is proud to congratulate former defenseman Christian Felton on signing a one-year entry level contract with the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.
Felton joined the GBL Bruins 18-and-under team in 2017 when he enrolled at Kimball Union Academy for his junior year of high school and played two seasons with both the 18U’s and the Wiildcats. In the 2018 fall season, Felton served as an alternate captain and emerged as a leader on the blue line on a team that finished the season ranked eleventh in the country.
Once his seasons with GBL and Kimball Union ended, the Medina, OH, native played appeared in eight games for the USHL’s Madison Capitols.
After a productive 2019-20 season in the BCHL with the Vernon Vipers, Felton matriculated at Bentley University and appeared in 13 of the Falcons’ 16 games in the COVID-shortened season.
As a sophomore, Felton transferred to Merrimack College and quickly worked his way up the depth chart.
Felton’s junior year saw him as a mainstay in the top defensive pairing on a team that advanced to the Hockey East championship game and the Warriors’ first NCAA Tournament berth since 2011. He was also named to the 2023 Hockey East All-Tournament team for his performance.
This past season, Felton was named alternate captain of the Warriors and skated in 26 games before an injury brought about a premature end to his senior season.
