Marlborough, MA- Finn Racki scored a first-half goal and A.J. Farese made 36 saves to pace the GBL Boston Jr. Bruins to a 1-1 tie with the New York Dynamo on Friday night.
The 18U’s found themselves on the penalty kill in the opening minute, but a Dynamo player was sent to the box a minute and a half later. Once the GBL penalty expired, the puck found its way to the high slot and Finn Racki picked it up and scored.
Farese continued to stifle the Dynamo as he turned away every shot he faced until the buzzer.
The 18U’s settled down a bit in the second half as they held the lead. A couple penalties by the Dynamo lead to some excellent chances to pad the lead, but the 18U’s were unable to slip one past the goalie.
The Dynamo found a crack in Farese as they tied the game with 4:21 remaining, and neither team was able to break the deadlock in the final minutes.
The 18U’s return to action on Saturday when they face Lovell Academy at the Worcester Ice Center. Game time is set for 11:20 AM.
