Foxborough, MA- The GBL Boston Jr. Bruins overcame a two-goal deficit to tie the Boston Bulldogs 2-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs grabbed the lead with 18:04 left in the opening half.
A power play goal with 6:16 on the clock stretched the lead to two.
After several chances that saw the 18U’s thwarted by the Bulldogs goaltender, the 18U’s were able to get on the board. Andrew MacAuley set up Caleb Racki in the corner and Racki sent a pass to a wide-open Nick Thornton on the point. Thornton skated to the right circle and found the back of the net with 1:55 to go in the half.
Jack Kelleher tied the game after taking a pass from Ben Romer and blasting it home a second before the buzzer.
Neither team was able to break the tie in the second half despite multiple chances, most notably by Finn Racki, Jack D’Alelio, and Steven Streeter, in the closing minutes.
The 18U’s return to Foxborough tomorrow when they face the Boston Jr. Eagles at 1:40 PM.
